Earth Week Vineyard Hikes

Jordan Vineyard & Winery is bringing back its buzz-worthy vineyard hike experiences in 2021, but with a new feature for nature lovers. The Healdsburg winery is unveiling its pollinator sanctuary habitat program to consumers on Earth Day, April 22, as part of a four-day series of Earth Week HikesOne of the most interesting aspects of this hiking trail is how it passes through and around several vineyard blocks in different phases of the grapevine planting process, in addition to passing all four of Jordan’s newly seeded and planted pollinator sanctuaries—one for native bees, one for hummingbirds and two for the at-risk Western monarch butterfly. This Sonoma hiking adventure coverabout four miles of hills and open spaces, beginning in the morning and concluding in the early afternoon. Earth Week Hikes have a special forage-focused menu, and spring hikes will continue in May and then return in fall on select October and November dates. Tickets for this three-hour excursion, which culminates with wine tasting and a picnic lunch, are $110 per person. Tickets go on sale 2-3 weeks before the hike date. Visit the winery’s events calendar for details.

The Ultimate Healdsburg Wine Tour Reopens

Shuttered for the entire pandemic, Jordan Winery’s award-winning Estate Tour & Tasting resumes this spring with many exciting enhancements to share. This three-hour moveable feast for the senses begins with breakfast in the Bacchus courtyard, followed by a driving tour across the 1,200-acre sustainably certified estate. Guests stop at the chef’s garden to learn about all the delicious things that grow in Sonoma, as well as visit the farm animals and apiary. Food pairings with wine tastings are hosted at two destinations—one lakeside and another at the breathtaking hilltop called Vista Point. The pavilion at Vista Point now features individual tables for each party to enjoy their finale wine tasting. Guests also get to see the winery’s new pollinator sanctuaries. This culinary adventure is hosted Thursday through Monday from June through October for $135 per person.

Alfresco Winery Lunches Return to Jordan with a Harvest Twist

When the Estate Tour & Tasting was closed due to social distancing guidelines, Jordan’s culinary team pivoted quickly and created a new winery lunch in Healdsburg called Paris on the Terrace. Guests loved the transportive dining experience so much that the Alexander Valley winery has brought back the French bistro-style meal for a second season, from May through August. In September, Jordan Winery’s annual Harvest Lunches series will be offered to the general public for the first time. A tradition since the 1980s, Harvest Lunches was always reserved for employees, grape growers and winery loyalty program members, but now wine lovers who’ve just discovered Jordan’s exclusively loyalty program can book a table to experience the thrill of grape crush season during September. Both winery lunches are hosted Thursday-Sunday for $110 per person.
